â Today's Promise: "Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22

Koleti's Journal Part 1: Break Out of My Fleshly Way
With my journey with the Lord, I am pleading God to please help me to learn how to walk in obedience with Him. As I am His bride, I need to do as He requires me to do, and in everything I do, I have also asked Him for His help because I can't do it on my own. Again, in my everyday living, I gave my time to be with the Lord in prayer and meditate in His Word.
Sometimes I pray for the blessings of God to be upon others and where I worked. In my family, I spent time with my children and their families and shared with them about the good and faithful of God in our lives. And the best giving that I have done is introducing the Lord to my children and their family, especially to my grandchildren. One of my grandsons is always talking and asking questions about, and who the Lord is. And most of the time He cried wanting to watch Him in the movie, and just now while I am journaling, he was laying on my bed next to me asking where to find the Lord. I told Him that He is living in his heart and my heart.
Dear Bride,
I have learned so much in this chapter that "giving'' is happening when you obeyed the Lord and because You hear the voice of God. And giving is through giving in every area of your life, such as giving your love now only to the Lord but also to others, your time and especially your obedience to the Lord. And what is challenging me after reading the chapter, was when the woman shared, that all I wanted to do was give: give of my time, give of my overflow of love, give away everything that had been given so freely to me! There had been so many times when I found myself at the end of all my resources, only to be put in a place where God asked me to give out of my lack, and when I didâI was again overflowing!
The Lord has performed so many miracles in her life because of her obedience to the Lord, the reason why she acted on the principle of 'Giving'.
Dear Sisters, I hope what I learned today will bless your heart, I pray that you will open your heart and ask the Lord to teach you to walk according to the principle I learned today. God bless you all.
"Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measureâ pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." Luke 6:38
This promise is meaningful to me because I believed in His Word, when He promised, He fulfilled and He is not the son of man that should lie, He is the God of His Word and truth. I have experienced the blessings of God in my life when I obeyed the Lord. I cannot explain and counted how much God had done during this journey with Him. As Psalm 23:5 talks about, ''You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows''.
Whatever amount of faith we have in the Lord by giving, is what God is going to give back to us. 1 Samuel 5:22, âHas the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices'', Obedience according to the Old Testament means âto hearâ or âto listenâ. It is not just a regular hearing, but a hearing with reverence and obedience, whereas in the New Testament the word is suggestive of âhearing underâ or of subordinating oneâs self to the person or thing heard.
