The Power of Our Words

♕ Today's Promise: “Because you’re not yet taking God seriously. The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.” Matthew 17:20

Dear Brides, the opening lines of this chapter ["Final Hurdle"] I believe you will find very interesting, it poses 2 questions that I believe we all want answered at some or other point in our lives:

Why hasn’t my life changed? Why haven’t the promises I know God gave me come to pass?

I don't know about you but what I do know is that when I was going through some of the most difficult parts of my journey I desperately needed these questions answered!!

“I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

I learned that as it says in the scripture that He has given me the keys I need to loose things over my life by moving mountains in what I speak! 🙂 I have to be careful of the things that I say, if I speak negatively then this is what I release over my life but if I speak His blessing then I loose blessings and prosperity over my life. It's actually quite simple and I am thankful for this revelation!

A specific example is my sister-in-laws fiancĂŠ whose sister ran away from home when she was young, got involved in drugs and all the wrong things. She is now an adult and my EH (earthly husband) inquired about how she is. The response was that she has always caused havoc and was put out of the family home and this is how it has always been known for her to be...

I was not in a position to share about His love for her but I was reminded of the power of our words. I too have a brother that is involved in drugs and reading this chapter reminds me to be mindful of what I say when asked about him because I have the power in my words to release life!

By being careful of what I say and by taking God's word very seriously. I need to remember that His word is not just scriptures but that The Word is LIFE, it is living and breathing as it says in Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

Dear Brides, to end off, I would like to share with you what I read directly from the chapter that is very powerful so that we don't miss it!! ::

[[Being free from debt, pain, worry and sin are all the same to God. None is less achievable with Him, and therefore it is simply offered to us without any of our effort or costing us anything. Who does God include in this offer? Why, “you who have no money come, buy and eat. Come, buy…without money and without cost.” Isaiah 55:1.]]

“Because you’re not yet taking God seriously.” Matthew 17:20

This is the scripture for what I share above.

"The simple truth is that if you had a mere kernel of faith, a poppy seed, say, you would tell this mountain, ‘Move!’ and it would move. There is nothing you wouldn’t be able to tackle.” Matthew 17:20

This scripture reminds me to pray for an extra measure of faith!! And to work out my faith muscles!!
