Last week we discussed how to not just live but to love others in an understanding way, which I hope you will put into practice. This week I’d like to discuss another principle that brides can adopt and incorporate into our lives taken from this family verse.

Proverbs 3:5–6—

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

Isaiah 30:21—

"Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.'"

Yesterday when I asked my grandson what he’d been up to, he told me he’d gotten a hoverboard for his birthday (from his other grandparents) and that he’d been practicing riding it. I asked how well he was doing and he answered “I just need to trust the board more. Most people try to balance it by leaning, but it has a built-in balancing mechanism. So by them trying to make it level, it causes them to fall off.”

Driving home I kept thinking about how similar this is to us spiritually. God has a built-in balancing mechanism but instead of “trusting” we lean and fall off. Our HH uses His love to teach us how He wants us to navigate, hands and worry-free, to steer around the world’s troubles. And it will be our lack of trust or unbridled trust that will be the determining factor on how well we travel along our journeys.

It’s not just how well we travel that’s important to keep in mind, is it? Because how well or how poorly a belief travels through life is seen by others, because people are watching (2 Corinthians 3:2). So, when we travel outstandingly well, it’s a fact that everyone will stop to watch in awe—just like the young people who’ve mastered hoverboards. I remember seeing teen boys on hoverboards weaving in and out of a crowd one day in the mall. Everyone stopped in awe and wonder.

As His brides how breathtaking it would be to show friends family and strangers what it’s like to weave in and out of difficulties navigating and dodging the cares of this world.

Even though these boards don’t truly “hover” over or lift off the ground, science has already discovered the means to lift. As you watch this 90 second video, listen in terms in terms of spiritually rather than physically. Hoverboards are Real

As His brides, let’s allow His over to lift us, carry us above and hover over the world’s troubles. Let His love dispel all evidence of our lack of trust, like us “trust the Lord” no longer leaning to what we understand but live a life of faith to the point of causing others who witness your life to want the abundant life of a bride herself.
