His Laws

It's hard to embrace God's Word and His principles when you get to the part about "the law." God says that for us to prosper in everything we do, we must "delight" ourselves in the LAW of the Lord and then to meditate on that LAW day and night. How can we delight ourselves is the law when a "law" is something we loathe?

If you have read Chapter 1 of my RYM "Restore Your Marriage" book, then you may remember reading this (below). Take a moment to read it again to help you to understand this week's LP.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.

The Bible is filled with the SPIRITUAL LAWS of His creation. When God created the world, He not only created it with its physical laws, like the law of gravity, but He also created it with SPIRITUAL LAWS. Just as violating the physical law of gravity will result in you stumbling or an object falling, so will violating the principles of Scripture...

It's only when we violate laws that we detest them. The truth is, laws are set in place, then taught to us, for our protection. It's almost like an invisible gate of protection surrounding us! It's not that we are fenced in, but instead, it is Him surrounding us with His protection and His favor.

It is only when we get it into our minds that we want to wander outside of this protective screen that we put ourselves in danger of either falling off a cliff or being devoured by the enemy. It's simply the way we look at that law, our invisible moat of protection surrounding us, which will decide the success or failure of our future.

Each verse you meditate on will give you the knowledge you will need to succeed.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you...

Unleashing the TRUTH

  1. First, I need to have a desire in my heart to do something, and that need has to come from the Lord. As Psalm 37 verses 4 to 6 declare, Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. King David had this passion for keeping the Law of God in his heart, and in his prayer in Psalm 119 verse 11, he said ” I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you ”.

As mentioned in the chapter, The Bible is filled with the SPIRITUAL LAWS of His creation. And that is so true, it is meant for our benefit and blessings. Psalm 1 begins by pronouncing blessings on the righteous person who refrains from evil way. to love God’s law, to know it, and to practice it, leads us to spiritual health and peace. And Psalms 19:7-10 – The law of the LORD is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.
