I Should Have Believed

♕ Today's Promise: “In hope against hope he [Abraham] believed…Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; YET, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.” Romans 4:18-21

Dear Brides, what really stood out for me in this chapter is the opening scripture about holding on to Hope because we can trust the Lord to do what He has promised!!

“Let us hold on to the hope we say we have and not be changed. We can trust God that He will do what He promised." Hebrews 10:23

He has taught me not to doubt but to HOLD ON, to hold onto every promise and to remember His promises every time I doubt.

I have an example of something that happened quite recently that I submitted a Praise Report about 🙂 My sister asked me if my EH (earthly husband) and I would like to join them on a local cruise and the Lord had given me a scripture in Genesis 18:14 at the beginning of the year and it is a question I believe that the Lord is asking each one of us "Is anything too wonderful or too difficult for the Lord?

I believe that the Lord builds up our faith gradually because I did not believe that we could pay the full cost of the cruise and so we declined... but then a week or 2 later I hear that the same cruise company had a 2 for 1 special??

Looking back I never actually should have doubted, I should have believed that my HH (Heavenly Husband) would make a way and He did He really did!!! I believe that is also why we need to practice not leaning on our own understanding but to believe and have faith that He will most definitely MOVE MOUNTAINS.

We don't need to know or understand how and I think that that is how we slip up, when we look at our own circumstance and resources but we don't look at our HH (Heavenly Husband) and how great and wonderful He is and that He can do anything!!!

I will be living out this principle by how I communicate with others letting them know that there are some really powerful promises in God's word and that even when we doubt, even when there are setbacks that we can hold on to His Promises which is the title of this chapter and that He is faithful!! Because He is!! He has been faithful to me in what He has Promised!!!!!!!

Dear Brides, many of us know and trust and believe the word of God and His promises. This chapter just takes what we know and believe in God's word that step further to hold on to His Promises and then... you will see how He moves those mountains!!!

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24

Sometimes what we have prayed for seems impossible because of setbacks or seems impossible in the natural but that is also when we need to remember

“In hope against hope he [Abraham] believed…Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; YET, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully assured that what God had promised, He was able also to perform.” Romans 4:18-21

We must not waver.
