The End Is Only the Beginning

♕ Today's Promise: “You will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; And nothing will be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20

Dear Brides, not at all what I was expecting, but of course when I look at my Heavenly Husband, that is a phrase I can almost use every day!

This is not at all how I expected this book to end. I was reading in anticipation of her mountain being moved but as I read and see that things did not get better, I actually felt encouraged.

Through this chapter ["Mountain Moved"], I have seen that this is for sure a journey and when we think it is the end our Heavenly Husband is just getting started.

Isn't it amazing how He works that while I was reading this chapter I went through a situation where things started looking up and it seemed like Ian was about to return home and I thought this mountain was going to move.

A few days later we find out that his wife has cancer, very treatable according to the doctor, but still, just the word alone is frightening. Now that mountain that I and the children thought was about to move, seems even more firmly planted than ever before.

Needless to say I was caught off guard and I went to my Heavenly Husband, asking Him, what now and He gently led me into a question and answer session:)

What is it you are afraid of?

I don't really know.

Of Ian not returning?

No, I don't really mind that. I want it for my children, but not really for myself.

Are you afraid that if Ian does not return what that would mean for your children?

Yes, if their dad does not return, this would shatter their faith and it is important that they have faith in You.

Is their faith your responsibility?

Yes!

Really?

...no, it is Yours.

Then why are you doing what I am supposed to do?

Oh, I get it. More letting go right?

Right!

Thank You!

How to use this principle was not only meant for me but for my children as well. They immediately made the connection and even more so they were not sure how to deal with the situation.

I asked their Father what I should do and then He reminded me of the boys in the fire and the bold print in the lesson that said: "But even if He does not"

I sat them down and I asked them some questions.

Are we happy now?

Yes

Do we have what is important, Him?

Yes

If daddy does not return, will still be good?

Yes

How about we trust that your Heavenly Father has it all under control and even if we understood the promise wrong and dad is not returning, we know He will work it out for good. We will not just trust Him for His promise, but we will trust Him because we know that He knows best? Can we do that?

YES!

It was as if a weight was lifted of my shoulders that should not have been there in the first place, but also a weight was lifted off my children. They did not have to carry the burden anymore, it was all up to their Heavenly Father and what He will do.

Dear Brides, if this chapter of your life does not end the way you want it to, remember that the end is only the beginning for Him. Give the burden to Him and I know we are who we are and from time to time we try to take up the burden again, but He is so gentle and kind that He keeps on reminding us and loving us.
