HOLDING ON

I have to admit there were times I would hold on to things because I was scared that I would not have enough for my sons for the future. But if I look back on my life the times I gave I was much more happy and fulfilled than holding on to something.

This morning my Heavenly Husband said I must go through my son's clothes and give to a friend of his, that is being looked after by his grandmother (because the mother passed away and the father is so very much on the wrong road). Today I give my Heavenly Husband all the glory because my son also would hold on to stuff he doesn't even wear but feels sorry to let go because it is still new but when I asked him if I could give it, he said yes. So all the glory to his Heavenly Father that is touching his heart. And my Heavenly Husband confirmed that I must give, because when I came to L@L, Adina's post was about Chapter 9 "Give" (Finding the Abundant Life). I just love what my Heavenly Husband is doing!

  1. Janine, so great that your son already is giving how his Heavenly Father is asking. We can not teach our children enough about the reason why it is better to give than to get. These days children are told from a young age to care for them self instead of knowingh that their Father will provide in everything that they will need. So they can give away for free what they got for free. Just like his word is saying Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” I strong believe that this scripture not only talks about money but also from material things. How blessed are we to see that we will receive double back when we give freely.

    1. Thank you dear Kristine, yes you are right we can not teach them enough why it is better to give than to receive and I just knew when my HH said I must start sowing into the friend’s life because his dad is in nearly the same situation my sons’s dad is, and I had to and to do what my HH asked of me.

  2. Janine, thank you so much for sharing this praise. Giving this gift to your son, teaching him the beauty and the blessing of giving will take him far into a world, filled with selfishness and greed – – and therefore lack and neediness.

Giving was something I knew I wanted to give to each of my children as an inheritance of their grandmother, Grammy. The beauty of giving and never lacking in anything.
I’ve shared the story of teaching, my youngest, Macy about giving when she was about four years old. Maybe my husband will lead me to create short question and answers that I can share in a podcast to easily reference. It’s a funny story, and I have a similar one about my youngest son as well that’s equally enjoyable. What’s most important is the results now that they are adults— each of my seven children are not only huge GIVERS, but they are teaching the same life lesson to their children, my grandchildren and as such NEVER lack in anything because they know or are learning who their Source for ALL their needs IS and will always be!! đŸ„łđŸ„łđŸ„łđŸ„ł

    1. Thank you dear Erin for sharing, yes please share in a podcast.
The other day my eldest son reminded me when he was very young and I just got divorced and he said he will never forget how I gave our last food to a homeless person but from there on if I look back we didn’t lack food again. My parents came to visit and when they looked in our cupboards they were empty and from there on my parents would buy us food and I know it was all because of my HH. I praise God for RMI, here I learned again about giving and my HH remined me to give and it is something I am going to make a effort of to teach my youngest son more because I made a effort to toeach his elder brother that when he was younger and he is such a humble man today, all the glory to their Heavenly Father. I am so greatful that He is our Source, my life has changed so much for the good now.
