"A Whole New World”

Every time I've listened to this song, singing along, often with tears streaming down my face, more than once almost unable to catch my breath, realizing just how much the Love of my Darling has healed me from so much, as well as— restoring relationships I lost all hope of ever seeing restored.

Some of my most precious relationships, which I no longer longed and yearned for (only because I had so much from Him and what more could I need or want when I had Him), enhanced my relationship with Him and showed me just how many ways, dozens of ways He'd healed me, changed me and allowed me to enjoy a new life. It was like a "Whole New World." 

As you listen to the song, imagine HIM singing this with you—your Best Friend, your Husband, your Savior (if you’re new to this incredible, abundant life journey). Let each word, each part of what's being said, sink in like a healing balm.

As I said in the RYM book? GOD asks, “‘Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then has not the health of the daughter of my people been restored?’ Jeremiah 8:22  There is a healing balm in the Word of God; there is a Physician, so why is the spiritual health of God’s people, the Christians, in such a devastating condition?” Would this healing balm, prescribed and created by our Physician, be for the sole purpose of healing us physically? Heaven’s no!

Remember, He is the Prince of Peace. Therefore, once you are His bride, you are a princess!

Oh how often while married I was told I was dreaming, but once I was His, I began watching every one of my dreams coming true—beyond what I could have dreamed. “Now to Him who will do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, ever imagine, dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes.” Ephesians 3:20

When I get to this part, I inevitably realize my eyes are closed, but then I laugh because it was only weeks ago, while I was on a Disney ride with my granddaughter, that my Husband told me not to close my eyes like I usually while going down the waterfall. He had me relax, and for the first time, I almost, almost, felt the thrill many apparently experience. It was a metaphor for this new life, this whole new world, free from fear, healed from countless experiences that left me in desperate need of Him and His love.

I've come so far

I can't go back to where I used to be

Yes, all my life when I made the mistake, especially in my marriage of sharing what I'd hoped for, only to have it met with scorn and ridicule, my heart soars each time I sing these words! And for the record, this is what He says: “He who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, ever imagine, dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes” (Ephesians 3:20).

A dazzling place I never knew

Oh, I only wish I could explain how much my life has suddenly changed. It's become a dazzling place, a whole knew world I'd never imagined I would get to live.

But when I'm way up here

This is the point, it's a new life with Him and because of Him and at the appointed time, He will take you "way up" there where you can see everything that's been confusing but is now crystal clear why the wait, why each baffling situation needed to happen exactly as He'd planned.

I couldn't relate to this line until I asked Him, and immediately, He reminded me of the last time I was on a favorite Disney ride with my granddaughter. I don't like the "drop," and normally, I close my eyes and brace myself. But the last time, He said, "Open your eyes," as I felt the drop in my stomach. I can't say I enjoyed the "thrill," but who knows? God knows if I will when I return to Disney's Magic Kingdom with more granddaughters (six of my eight granddaughters, to be exact!).

I can't go back to where I used to be

I've said this and believed this truth for decades. I could never go back to who or where I used to be. He's brought me too far long ago.

(HIM) A whole new world

(YOU) Every turn a surprise

That's for sure! Where I live, how I live, and the three more scheduled family vacations to Disney in the next two months when more of my grandchildren will again experience what my father heard firsthand from his close friend Walt Disney, who he met while a cartoonist in the 1930s. Walt built the first theme park in California so he had a place to enjoy his daughters, and other families would have somewhere to make memories. Even though it's been hijacked like our rainbow, why should we abandon it?
