Good, Perfect and Pleasing

♕ Today's Promise: “For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'” Romans 1: 17

Dear Brides, the Lord wants you where you are long enough until you are true to Him and until He is enough for you. He wants you to have a true and lasting solution to all your problems, now and in the future. He wants you to have Him!

My sisters in Christ, what will you do when the Lord gives you what you have asked for? Will you run off to your idols again? During our quiet time He told me that He needs to have me in my situation longer just so that He can be enough for me. Of course it didn’t feel good at all. “Lord, but why?” I asked. He reminded me that He loves me and that I should trust in Him completely because He has a beautiful plan for my life, a plan that is according to His will which is good, perfect and pleasing.

I then began praising Him for my situation as it is. He began to fill me with His joy; it is almost as though I was in another world. There are still many instances the enemy wants to take my joy away but I quickly take those thoughts captive and surrender them to my Lord and savior. I know that my Husband is in control and that His plans are better than mine.

I feel like the Lord has us in tough places so that we can prove that His grace is actually sufficient. This is my younger son’s birthday week. His birthday was celebrated last Saturday (days before the actual date) because schools are opening and his older brother and his cousins wouldn’t be around to celebrate it on the actual birth date. Anyway, my partner’s mother informed me about it but I wasn’t invited so I kept away. This tore my heart apart and instead of going to my closet to talk to my Husband about it, I went to talk to my mother (whom I currently live with) and just as Michele explains in this chapter ["That Amazing Grace"], it didn’t feel good afterwards and I guess I missed out on His grace at the time.

Our Lord is so compassionate. After a lot of tears, He reminded me that I am living by sight and not by faith as I should. As much as it hurt, He was still God; He was still faithful and loving and He was still powerful. In His love and goodness He thought it wise for me not to be in that event and I had to trust Him with all my heart even though it didn’t make sense to me. He did it for my own good and the good of my children. He loves me and loves them more than I do. I praise Him because He is still God; He is the supreme ruler and still abounds in love. He will work all things for our good.

I know I must take God at His Word and fully trust in Him no matter what. I must believe that He has my best interest at heart. His love needs to be my focus.

Dear Brides, no matter how difficult it gets, remember that His grace is sufficient for you. You can run to Him and be healed and be filled with His love. No amount of talking about your situation with others can change it, however, you can turn to your Husband for He controls times and seasons. He cares about every detail of your life and loves you immensely.

“For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: 'The righteous will live by faith.'” Romans 1: 17

This verse reminds us that what we see or hear is inconsequential, what we need to trust is the Word of the Lord. His Word is the truth and it is living.
