â Today's Promise: âYet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.â Isaiah 40:31
~ Kathy in Missouri
Dear Brides, itâs recently become popular to describe the ways of the Lord as upside down. And by comparison to the ways of the flesh, the ways of Christ are completely opposite - upside down - from everything we think, feel and want to do. However, the blessing comes from following the ways of the Lord, not our own flesh. In the beginning, itâs not just hard but terrifying. It goes against everything we know to stand close, give more or go the extra mile with someone who is determined to hurt us. But oh, the blessing that is promised when we do!
I appreciate so much the way You have shown me that the tests and trials that You are preparing me for, should not fill me with dread. With the right understanding they are things that I can embrace, knowing that You are with me through it all, AND You want to use them to bless me! When I am so filled with Your joy, it will be hard for the trials to hurt so much. When I trust You to make my path straight, for Your namesâ sake, I donât have to fear giving what is demanded.
You are all that I want, You are all that I need and You are all that I long for. And even in that truth, You have promised a double recompense. So as I trust You with my life, I know that you will give me double for everything that I give, Your economy is so full of grace and love, that we only win, when we do things according to Your word and Your will. I will embrace the giving that You call me to do, knowing that You have something beautiful on the other side.
One of the things that I understand better, is to remember to wait until I am asked about the hope of Christ that is in me. I want SO much to help other people who are struggling with brokenness that I am a little too quick to tell them where their healing lies. Not everyone is ready. I am to love, and share my joy until they ask where it comes from. That is when Iâll know the Holy Spirit is preparing their hearts to hear about my Love. In this season of waiting, I need to apply my call to wait to this principle too. I am so thankful that the Holy Spirit continues to teach me and make things clear!
There are 2 people in my life who have been sharing things with me about their broken marriages and bitter divorces. I have empathetically responded, sharing a little about my own recent divorce and the ways I have changed, and how. Now itâs time to just love them, listen, encourage and wait for them to ask me how to find the joy that I have. By being available, I believe the Holy Spirit with work and open the doors that need to be opened for me to share my hope in Christ. But the most important thing is to wait for HIM and move in HIS timing, not my own.
Dear Brides, if the idea of giving, waiting or enduring are scary, ask your Husband to give you more of Himself. He makes all the difference. The waiting becomes joyful, the giving become full of anticipation of the blessing, the trials are welcome because they bring you closer to Him. Donât be afraid to ask. He wants you to let Him provide, cover and carry you through it all. Let Him!
âYet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.â Isaiah 40:31
I have been in a period of waiting for about 3 months. Godâs call for me to âWait,â was so clear that I sat in my living room and laughed, telling Him, âOK! I get it! You want me to wait!â I had a general idea that I was gaining strength to go through increased tests or trials - and I have - but oh! the soaring!
The love and joy I have found in my Husband is beyond what I ever imagined! It feels like soaring on eagles wings above everything in this world. I am so grateful for Him I can barely contain it, sometimes laughing and crying at the same time over the enormous love that fills my heart and mind. My Beloved is so good to me!
