Sunday was the day I moved to the town where my fh and children stays so I can be closer to my children, pick them up after school and do a week/week split. May was a hectic month because I had to pack up my 3 bedroom house with only the help and strength of my HH. But it also gave me the opportunity to declutter and give. There where days, especially the last week, where I had a few meltdowns because it felt like I am not getting anywhere near finishing. Only by my Hubands strength and really only grabbing on to Him was I able to continue. But by Friday He gave me peace that I have 3 days after "moving day" to go back to the old house to fetch the last small stuff.
Friday I drove to the new town to fetch the house keys and brought curtains with me to hang whatever I could before the move on Sunday. But when I got to the new house it was DIRTY. They painted and tiled the bedroom floors and it looked like they didn't clean afterwards. So He led me to phone my friend (Amanda) to find out if her domestic worker can maybe clean for me on Saturday so the house will be clean on Sunday. She arranged and on Saturday she came in to clean and she really did a good job.
Sunday the truck came early, they pack everything quickly and when we got to the new house they unpacked everything quickly, the whole move took about 3,5 hours. I just entrusted everything to my Husband and no furniture was damaged. My fh brought my children to help me fix their rooms, but when we assembled their beds, we realized one of the plank that hold my daughter's bed's headboard and footboard together is missing. I tried to phone the truck to find out if they maybe forgot it in the truck, but couldn't reach them. But since I had to go pack to the old house on Monday to get my clothes and the last stuff left there, I thought maybe the forgot it there. My daughter was very disappointed about her "broken" bed. The rest of the day I just hanged curtains while my son (9) assembled his desk and my daughter unpacked her clothes. Later the evening my fh picked them up again.
Yesterday I went back to the old house to get my clothes etc, but it was just too much to get into my car, so I have to go back today to get the last stuff and clean the house before I return the keys. My missing plank was not there, I looked everywhere but it's nowhere to be found... But my Husband reminded me that Amanda's husband is a handyman and that he can maybe make me something similar to fix her bed or know of somebody that can.
But all in all it was a hectic weekend, I managed to get the house liveable, I can sleep, most of the essential kitchen stuff is unpacked, curtains are hanged. My children will not be sleeping here this week, I will fetch them from school until my fh gets off from work. Yesterday afternoon they helped me unpack whatever they could. There are still a lot off boxes left, but that I will unpack in time. Amanda's husband will make a plank for me to fix my daughter's bed. Although I am tired and sore, I want to praise my Husband for the fact that it went smoothly and that He was in charge. He provided because I had to buy more curtains because the new house have lots of windows and HUGE windows. I gave my aunt cabinets and shelves to use at her nursery school. I told her I am GIVING it to her, but the next day she deposited enough money into my account to buy more curtains. I told her I want nothing for everything I gave her when she asked, but she just decided on a amount and paid it into my account...
And the move also brought help from an unexpected source, my former mother in law. Since before the divorce she took my fh and ow side and she rejected me totally. But I let it go and the times I did see her, when she dropped off the children's dog or came to fetch the dog, I was friendly.
But more about that tomorrow...
