Last week we discussed how to not just live but to love others in an understanding way, which I hope you will put into practice. This week I’d like to discuss another principle that brides can adopt and incorporate into our lives taken from this family verse.
Proverbs 3:5–6—
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Isaiah 30:21—
"Your ears will hear a word behind you, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ whenever you turn to the right or to the left.'"
Yesterday when I asked my grandson what he’d been up to, he told me he’d gotten a hoverboard for his birthday (from his other grandparents) and that he’d been practicing riding it. I asked how well he was doing and he answered “I just need to trust the board more. Most people try to balance it by leaning, but it has a built-in balancing mechanism. So by them trying to make it level, it causes them to fall off.”
Driving home I kept thinking about how similar this is to us spiritually. God has a built-in balancing mechanism but instead of “trusting” we lean and fall off. Our HH uses His love to teach us how He wants us to navigate, hands and worry-free, to steer around the world’s troubles. And it will be our lack of trust or unbridled trust that will be the determining factor on how well we travel along our journeys.
It’s not just how well we travel that’s important to keep in mind, is it? Because how well or how poorly a belief travels through life is seen by others, because people are watching (2 Corinthians 3:2). So, when we travel outstandingly well, it’s a fact that everyone will stop to watch in awe—just like the young people who’ve mastered hoverboards. I remember seeing teen boys on hoverboards weaving in and out of a crowd one day in the mall. Everyone stopped in awe and wonder.
As His brides how breathtaking it would be to show friends family and strangers what it’s like to weave in and out of difficulties navigating and dodging the cares of this world.
Even though these boards don’t truly “hover” over or lift off the ground, science has already discovered the means to lift. As you watch this 90 second video, listen in terms in terms of spiritually rather than physically. Hoverboards are Real
As His brides, let’s allow His over to lift us, carry us above and hover over the world’s troubles. Let His love dispel all evidence of our lack of trust, like us “trust the Lord” no longer leaning to what we understand but live a life of faith to the point of causing others who witness your life to want the abundant life of a bride herself.
Unleashing the TRUTH
“Because of the power of God at work within us, He is able to do far more than we could ever ask or imagine.” Ephesians 3:20
On my journey I have learned that fear [anguish, fear, alarm] is putting our trust in the lies of the enemy, while calm [peace, serenity] comes from putting our trust in what God says, those emotions should be our red flag 🚩 to identify who we are listening to. The enemy generally begins his attack by weakening our trust in God, that is how he began his attack on Eve in the Garden of Eden when he made her question “… Did God really say …?” and he does the same with us. That is when we begin to reason and rely on our understanding, anguish interferes so that we cannot hear His voice and we end up doing something we should not have done, but if we are totally confident that His Word is the truth we can dodge those enemy darts, we can have the communication channel clear and attentive to His voice and then follow His plan that will result in blessing.
I remember that at the beginning of my journey, it was hard for me to fully trust Him because I hadn’t “seen” much of God at that time. But reading His Word, I realized that I was living the consequences that He had said I would have if I disobeyed Him. I was able to understand that these are laws that must be fulfilled, and that made me see that His Word is trustworthy. If I was living all the bad things that He says happen for disobeying Him, then I believed that I could see the blessings that He promises if I obeyed Him, and so it has been!!
We can choose who to believe. In times of anguish and fear, let us try to stop and calm down and allow Him to quiet our hearts and remove the fear that wants to take over us through His Word, His love that eliminates all fear. Once we are calm, we can hear Him clearly and choose to trust in Him who is the truth, the way, and the life. Sometimes the fight against certain fears extends for periods, but every time I have put this into action, I have seen how that fear weakens more and more because His Word is cutting, it is sharp, it is powerful, and it fulfills the purpose for which God sends it. So do not give up, continue believing and speaking His Word into your life, and see how that fear [enemy] weakens until it disappears. This is what it is about being brave and going on the offensive against the enemy.
It is so wonderful when we understand that our balance can only be found through the Lord!
Unfortunately, it is common for us to seek balance in things, people, or in ourselves… But we will never achieve true balance until we bow before the Lord and leave our weights, our burdens, and our worries to Him!
We learn from a very early age that the right thing to do is to pursue our dreams and our goals, and I felt worn out because, no matter how hard I tried, some things didn’t fit.
Today I realize that I was seeking my own interests, without asking Him what I should do, what was best for me. Everything was very heavy, difficult, and exhausting!
When I embarked on this journey and learned each of His principles, my burdens were lightened. One by one I was able to hand them over to Him, and I am still doing so!
I need to hand everything over to Him every day so that I can float. And I can only achieve balance through Him and with Him by my side.
As the lesson says: “Since we are His brides, imagine how breathtaking it would be to show friends, family, and strangers what it’s like to float amidst difficulties, dodging the worries of this world?”
That’s all I want, to give Him my burdens and, with commitment and determination, find balance so that I can float.
I confess that I constantly want to reach out and take back the burdens I gave to Him. Anxiety sometimes insists on appearing, but I no longer want to live without balance, I need Him in every situation of my life!
Dear Brides, by applying these principles of this lesson, we realize the weight we were carrying. And only when we find Balance (our Beloved), we understand that we cannot do it alone, we cannot carry such a weight on our fragile shoulders! We need to take to Him everything that afflicts us, everything that hurts us, everything that saddens us, so that we can float above the problems of the world.
