â Today's Promise: "Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measureâ pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return." Luke 6:38

Dear Bride
This chapter is about "Give'', or in other words, giving when you are on the path out of poverty and giving when you are in need. Wow, after reading this chapter I was so amazed and challenged by the faith in this woman's testimony and her obedience to the Lord. She was also living by Godâs principles through the leading of the Holy Spirit and applying His grace to every difficult situation. And walking by faith, not by sight as the scripture says in 1 Corinthians 5:7, "For we live by faith, not by sight". And as for me, I learned from this chapter that God actually sets us up in a place of need in order to bless us. That itâs at the juncture of our need when our fate, or blessing, stands before us, and itâs we who choose. Our flesh wants to pull back, withhold, and look for another resource to fill the need in our life.
However, as believers we are asked instead, to walk by our faith even though we canât see what is up ahead. And itâs our trust in the Lord that presses us forward. When we seem to have nothing left, we need to give in order to receive. If we fail to give, we will be left wanting. As Proverbs 11: 24-25 declares âThere is one who scatters and yet increases all the more, and there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in want. The generous man will be prosperous, and he who waters will himself be watered''.
This chapter has been strengthening my faith to stand firm in the Word and promises of God about the principle of ''Giving''. And above all giving, there is nothing compared to the 'giving' that God sent to this world. as stated in John 3:16-17, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him".
As I mentioned before I was so amazed when the principle of giving has been clearly explained and shared in the chapter. Firstly, my HH (Heavenly Husband) taught me that obedience is better than sacrifices, not only by hearing of the Word but also be a doer of the Word. And this is my prayer, asking the Lord to please help me to open my spiritual ears and spiritual eyes so I can hear His voice, in order for me to do His will.
Secondly, I was taught giving is totally the opposite of what comes naturally. When I am in need, giving is certainly the very last thing I feel like doing. I am no different than any of you. My flesh wants to control my life just like your flesh wants to control your life. Yet, as a follower of the Lord, I am striving to break out of my fleshly way and live an abundant life, which means living by Godâs principles through the leading of the Holy Spirit and applying His grace to every difficult situation.
A dying to flesh and stepping out in faith, which is always unseen.
The area of my life that I am struggling with is hearing the Voice of God, as I mentioned above that in my prayer, I am asking the Lord to help me to learn how to hear His Voice, for me to obey and walk according to God's will. And the Lord has been so faithful, He granted in me what I have asked for, through His Word and by testimonies of people that God performed miracles in their lives.
With my journey with the Lord, I have also seen the mighty hand of God working in my life, He healed my heart and changed my life. I am a changed person, living for God only. And what overcoming this struggle is through my obedience and having the Lord as my priority in everything I do. As He is my HH (Heavenly Husband), I need to 1 Samuel 15:22 ask him for direction every day of my life.
The Woman shared that through her giving, firstly she obeyed the voice of the Lord. And all she wanted to do was give: give her time, give of her overflow of love, give away everything that had been given so freely to her! There had been so many times when she found herself at the end of all her resources, only to be put in a place where God asked her to give out of her lack, and when she didâShe was again overflowing!
