In E3 of my podcast series, I want to share more about how I forgave my eh/fh and the OW. Forgiving them felt like walking into a brick wall, I didn't want to forgive them, I guess it was my pride and also everything that was happening at that stage, and I was also bombarded with flashbacks at that stage.
And I asked all the questions:
-Why should I forgive them?
-How many times must I forgive them?
-Shouldn't I wait for an apology or something before I forgive?
"Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." C313
"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." L637
"Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you." E431
"For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins." M616
"Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, 'Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?" Jesus answered, 'I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.'" M1821

Week 6 Chapter 3 âA Gentle and Quiet Spiritâ Establish Understanding â HopeAtLast.com
Great resources you shared Adina, i can say that they helped me so much with forgiveness in the beginning of my journey and still help me now years later. I am still a work in progress, He is always working in me and I love going back and re reading and watching the videos over again so that my mind keeps being renewed!
I agree Liora, we must read His Word and the resources again and again, and Gentle and Quiet Spirit explains forgiveness so well and it really made me look at myself and where I stood regarding forgiveness.
Yip if you struggle to forgive meditating on scriptures about forgiveness is the best way to change your heart and to ask Him to help u. I remember duringcm some of the hardest parts of my journey my HH showed me l would have to forgive eh every single day that eh lived with ow and her family because that hurt me a lot. Also the flashbacks it takes time but everytime you go to Him and tell Him about the flashbacks and the hurt you feel and ask Him to work in your heart it gets better and as time goes by you don’t have the flashbacks so often and healungtakez place đđŸ
True, forgiveness is something we never stop doing, there will always be somebody we must forgive, or we must ask forgiveness from. When I started to use my flashbacks in my healing process, giving each flashback to Him, talk to Him about it and asked Him to heal me from that memory, my healing went quite fast. Now when I get flashbacks, which rarely happens, I know what to do with them, but most of the time there are no feelings attached to those memories anymore, all because His true healing.
Forginess makes us humble!!! What a powerful principle, and love the way you explain it so easy!!
Praise the Lord that He never stops forgiving us!!
We must extend the same grace we receive!!
Thank you so much for sharing!!!
