â Today's Promise: âWe are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.â 2 Cor. 10:5
~ Kathy in Missouri
Dear Brides there is so much restoration to be done. As we are learning the truth from the Word, this chapter ["Trust and Obey"] will show you how to use it for many situations and circumstances in your life, and give you the scripture to back it up. Open you heart and learn how to apply the principles of restoration to many relationships in your life.
It has been so enlightening to see how the same principles for restoring my marriage should be use to restore my other broken relationships. In my contentiousness, it never crossed my mind that I shouldn't argue with my grown children. I will continue to sit with my Husband, because being in His presence gives me the gentle and quiet spirit that is precious to Him. I am seeing the evidence of this with my relationship with my daughter. I love to hear her say that I'm "different now."
Especially since I didn't do what I have been accused of! However, as the Holy Spirit has been revealing even deeper issues of pride and arrogance that must be cast down, I can see what the real issues are - the spiritual battles going on. So who cares if what was said isn't true! It's not even the real issue. Thank you Holy Spirit for continuing to teach me!
So when the LORD gives me an opportunity to speak to my son, I will have a gentle and quiet spirit and speak to him with kindness in a way that I haven't in a very long time. I will trust the Holy Spirit to give me everything I need to be able to ask forgiveness for the rejection he feels. And if he continues to accuse me falsely, I will simply apologize. I will agree with my adversary quickly and pray that my words are pleasing to the LORD so that even my angry, hurting son will be at peace with me.
I am simply going to walk out the principles of being quiet. Words that come out of my mouth will be kind and encouraging to the women I work with as well as my family. I have always been known as someone who talks a lot and loudly, so it's time to change that.
Dear Brides, bring your broken hearts to our Husband and let him heal you and teach you. Have faith that He cares about every little part of you. I believe in you. Let Him change you from the inside out.
âWe are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.â 2 Cor. 10:5
I call on these words often! Every time old memories of rejection or mistakes try to beat me up emotionally, I cry out these words to refocus my mind.
