â Today's Promise: "So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11
~ Treasure in the United Kingdom
Dear Bride, I know this might be a bit difficult to assimilate because of how we have been taught. The abundant life in Christ is the key to living the life of Freedom that He purchased for us through His blood. The key to finding this life is in intimacy with the Lord (our bridegroom).
I am still growing in this despite having been a Christian for such a long time. I have never seen it this way. Now all I want is this UNSPEAKABLE JOY and abundant life (Life with no limits) that only Him can provide because I believe that is truly when we start LIVING.
Few weeks ago when I started my journey, I was completely aloof despite being a long time believer. It was then I realized that I wasn't really intimate with Him.
Having listened to testimonies of women whose lives and marriages were restored as a result of finding this life, I am now in pursuit of this life. I really want to get to the place where nothing else matters.
Yes, reading this first chapter ["What Is the Abundant Life?"] took me to the book of Hebrews I think in Chapter 3 where He says we should FIX OUR THOUGHTS ON THE LORD. I hear Him say to me that it is by and in fixing our eyes on the Lord (our bridegroom) that we are able to navigate through some very hard times.
I used to find it difficult fixing my thoughts on the revealed word of GOD. But this chapter has enabled me to understand the steps through which this can be made possible by repeating the words of affirmation that HE (our Beloved) is all I want, He is all I need and when I have Him I have everything. When I repeat this, my heart feels overwhelmed with love that I end up crying each time thinking through what He went through for me and how deeply He loves me and wants the best for me, then whatever thought that came fighting me disappears.
I thought I was intimate with the Lord until now.
Reading this chapter for over 3 times has enabled me to begin to understand this thing called UNSPEAKABLE JOY and the LOVE (Compassion) our Father has poured on us.
My EH (earthly husband) lives with me and it is sometimes difficult dealing with the details that the enemy puts before me each day. Casting my hope and faith on the love my HH (Heavenly Husband) has for me enables me to forgive all of these knowing that he does not know what he is doing and LOVE HIM the way my HH is teaching me. That way I don't fall apart or get disappointed with his behaviours.
It has enabled me to put all my expectation on my HH and let Him guide me jealously so I don't miss a foot.
Without my HH's (Heavenly Husband) love I will be nowhere able to love my EH (earthly husband) this way and I am grateful for this growth.
This is so surreal. Few days ago I was asking my Beloved how to manage my EH excesses as he lives in the house with me and has been so disrespectful in every way.
So my Beloved told me to LOVE HIM. Then I said to Him that I thought I was already doing that, then He referred me to 1st Corinthians 13 verses 4-8 where it enumerated the characteristics of LOVE and how we are meant to love. That broke me and made me begin to check my thoughts and actions towards my EH (earthly husband).
This journey is real and like Erin said we have to be blameless. Looking at 1st Corinthians 13 again made me realize that this restoration is clearly about me being restored into the abundant life that Christ has brought me and into His image, I can be more like Him.
I am defocusing on what he is or not doing but focusing on how I can be the beautiful bride for my HH (Heavenly Husband).
Dear Brides,
I have studied this chapter for more than 3 times and what I come to all the time is the power in understanding this scripture John 10 vs 10. This abundant life that our Beloved died for. I have been a Christian for so long and did not know how to take advantage of this love because all I had was a head knowledge.
Now opening my heart to feel this love and to be a product of this love is humbling and fulfilling because this is the strength of who we are in Christ.
Be encouraged above all things to make this love your focus. It is in this that we find restoration.
âDo not fear, for you will not be put to shame, And do not feel humiliated or ashamed, for you will not be disgraced. For you will forget the shame of your youth, And you will no longer remember the disgrace of your widowhood. For your husband is your Maker, The LORD of hosts is His name; And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the God of the whole earth. For the LORD has called you, Like a wife who has been abandoned, grieved in spirit, And like a wife [married] in her youth when she is [later] rejected and scorned,â Says your God. âFor a brief moment I abandoned you, But with great compassion and mercy I will gather you [to Myself again]" Isaiah 54:4-7
"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11
These two scriptures fills me with assurance that God is in control of whatever situation we may go through and has already made a way of escape. With that in mind we surrender our self to the process we have to go through until God completes His work of transformation to birth the promise He made us.
This understanding calms my nerve and also knowing that He is God whose word is TRUE and cannot fail but will do what it was sent to do makes me rest in His knowledge and wisdom hoping in faith that He will come through for me.
