BOOK 4
"PERFECTED IN WEAKNESS"
"Power is perfected in weakness."
He Makes Me Lie Down in Green Pastures
Living Lesson 92
"Boast"
"Power is perfected in weakness.
Gladly, I will BOAST about my weaknesses,
so that HIS power may dwell in me."
"Nothing will be impossible WITH GOD."
"Meet Mr. Impossible"
In our last chapter, "Angry or Brokenhearted?“ Living Lessons BOOK 3, we looked beneath the surface—how what we feel often points to something deeper that needs care, not about us reacting. It was a reminder to pause, to notice, and to respond with awareness instead of letting emotions take the lead.
Living Lessons Book 4 is all about the "Beauty of Weakness." In a day and age when the most sought-after attribute is strength, how could our God, the God of the universe, the Creator of everything we see, work His best in and through persons like us, when we are at our weakest?
Yet, I'm only just now living and therefore, understanding this myself. As I live the lesson of being “PERFECTED IN WEAKNESS,” starting this new book, I'm sure you'll enjoy this first exciting, eye-opening chapter.
Let me start by explaining how I met Mr. Impossible. This Man has been in my life since I was seven years old. From the very beginning, we became best friends.
We were inseparable. I relied on Him for everything. Over the years, we've come through incredible seasons of growth—each one drawing us closer until now, I am "over the moon" calling Him my Husband, my Darling, the Love of my Life.
When I recently worked on the Wise Woman TNT—TNT "tribe, nation and tongue" by removing the “religious” tone so that everyone could truly experience the same intimate relationship I have with Him—when suddenly, I realized something profound. It’s in those silly, sleep-deprived, utterly human moments that He perfects (you and) me. That’s what He means when He says "strength is made perfect or perfected in WEAKNESS."
And that’s exactly what this Living Lesson Book is about. Months ago—long before I had any understanding of the beauty found in weakness or what “perfect” truly meant—I asked our amazing book designer, Adina, to give the next Living Lessons book, Book 4, its title: Perfected in Weakness. And today, I finally uploaded the cover from the folder and added it to both the home page and this page!
As I was recording this, I stated, "This will be my Chapter 1—Book 4. And that number, #4… It’s significant.
The number 4 in the Bible symbolizes Completeness, Creation, and the Good News:
Completeness—like the four cardinal directions (north, south, east, and west), the four seasons, and the four points of the compass.
Creation—In Genesis, on the fourth day of creation, God made the sun, moon, and stars.
Good News—the first 4 books of the New Testament are often referred to as the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, where we receive the “gospel truth,” the ultimate truth.
Don't you love how numbers speak His language? They whisper His design, His meaning, His love woven through everything He creates.
Interestingly, too, is that Mr. Impossible reminded me I'd forgotten to share the four books, Matthew (twice), Mark, Luke, where Mr. Impossible recorded His promises.
And looking at them, He said to them, "With people this is impossible, but WITH GOD all things are possible."
Looking at them, He said, "With people it is impossible, but not WITH GOD; for all things are possible with God."
"For nothing will be impossible WITH GOD."
"But He said, 'The things that are impossible with people are possible WITH GOD."
And probably my favorite (because I insert myself), "And looking at them HE said to everyone, 'With ERIN this is impossible, but WITH GOD all things are possible.'"
"Early Morning with Mr. Impossible"
For several days— for weeks—I had been waking up early—excited most mornings, not all, but most. This morning, I woke up and saw the time: 2:39 a.m.
I couldn’t believe it.
But deep inside, I knew something special was about to happen, and I wanted to be ready, perfectly weak, so I could watch Him work through me. While too weak to think, I natually call on Him, and receive this promise I "wash myself" in every morning: "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty and marvelous and wondrous things, which you do not know…things to come, things you could never figure out on your own, remarkable secrets…“ It's literally “A Whole New World.”
It was during our Celebration Week for the Partner Promise 2026, marking 36 years of ministry for me. I got up, made a cup of coffee, and began following His lead. It was unreal how many things previously baffling or too difficult I was accomplishing—I knew would be impossible on my own, but also if I were not weak. Sleep-deprived, yes—but He was perfecting and showing, displaying, exhibiting, unveiling, heralding, trumpeting His strength through my weakness. Years ago, "I distinctly heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?”
And I enthusiastically shouted, “Here I am. Send me!”
It reminded me of something I recently noticed—how many of the most powerful and influential people in history rarely slept much. Political leaders like our current U.S. president, Churchill, and Thatcher, as well as brilliant minds like Thomas Edison, Nikola Tesla, and Leonardo da Vinci, often accomplished their greatest work on just a couple of hours of sleep.
Not because they were—and certainly not because I was—striving to accomplish anything. There’s simply a deep, consuming passion that stirs within me, much like my love for Him. For me, it’s not about achievement; it’s about that divine moment when the Lord takes over. That’s why I’m eager to rise early—to meet Him there. Still, I don’t recommend sleep deprivation or fasting unless He leads you. I only do what my Best Friend—the Love of my Life—asks me to do.
"A Craving and a Miracle"
“Mr. Impossible" made Himself known to me this very morning, while I was on the phone with South Africa.
May I stop for a minute and say that it still amazes me how I can talk to someone on the other side of the world for hours—when I remember that, not that long ago, a three-minute call to Japan cost twenty dollars! It’s a blessing I never take for granted.
During our call this morning, with Yvonne, I said, “I’m going to get a second cup of coffee—super strong this time.”
But as I went to make it, I realized something: I didn’t have any of my little breakfast cookies or pastries. Not one.
You see, when I lived in Geneva, Switzerland, I developed a love for savoring something sweet with my morning coffee. There was a world-famous chocolatier near the apartment I shared with one of our French ministers. Each morning, I’d stop for a tiny pastry and a piece of cheese to enjoy with my rich, creamy latte before my Beloved and I strolled along the glistening shores of Lake Geneva. Since then, I’ve never enjoyed a second cup of coffee without a treat from my Beloved.
Yet, for the past few days, I had nothing.
I’d gone to the grocery store twice and even ordered online—but not once did my Husband remind me to get cookies or a biscotti or anything. Nothing! Just cheese. And as delicious as cheese can be, cheese with coffee simply doesn’t cut it.
So there I was, in my kitchen, half-laughing and half-desperate. And that’s when I heard myself say—maybe out loud, maybe in my heart—
“Well, You’re Mr. Impossible. Why don’t you just create some cookies? You could make a box appear in the pantry if You wanted to. I know You can!”
Instantly, I envisioned something, so I followed Him.
I opened my side-by-side refrigerator and reached into a shelf I had completely cleaned the day before. There shouldn’t have been anything there that I hadn't noticed. But as I reached into the very back left corner and I felt something. I pulled it out—and there it was: a bag of frozen peanut butter cookie dough I’d made weeks earlier while working on NXTGEN!
It wasn’t just there, a treat to go along with my coffee—it was entirely perfect—more than I dared to hope for!
I laughed out loud, sliced off a thin piece, and baked it in my, would you believe... air fryer? Then He nudged me to add a couple of chocolate chips and cranberries. The result? The most heavenly cookie I’d ever tasted.
And that was it. From that moment on, I knew His new name: Mr. Impossible.
"A Living Lesson"
When I came back to my call, my dearest friend in South Africa had finished recording something. I could hardly contain my excitement as I told Yvonne the whole story. When I finished, she said, “Can I just say something? That would make the perfect Living Lesson—Mr. Impossible!”
I laughed. I hadn’t thought of it that way. Then later today, Mr. Impossible was at it again! I just "happened" to read a comment from one of our long-time partners during the Partner Celebration, and voilà, it all came together.
Christine wrote, “I would love to see the Living Lessons return.”
That was it.
I knew—I was recording this one just for her.
Now here’s the most beautiful truth: that’s exactly how He feels about you. Yes, you!!
If you were the only one in the world, He would still go out of His way to bless you, to surprise you, to show you just how much you mean to Him.
That’s what the Living Lessons are all about—learning to live the abundant life He died to give us.
Even though I rarely speak of it, my heart never forgets—my Husband is a decorated Spiritual War Hero. Not adorned with medals, but with a crown. He fought the greatest battle ever waged between good and evil—and He won. When I think of Him, and all He endured for me, for you, I see the most noble of warriors—my Prince of Peace. And my heart swells with love and honor for my War Hero, my Beloved.
He’s my Hero—and I hope He becomes yours too.
Because I know He’s thinking of you right now, this first chapter of Book 4: Perfected in Weakness is devoted—and written—for you, too. I believe, and even more importantly, He believes, that you deserve to know Him as deeply, as beautifully, and as wonderfully as I do.
Conclusion:
"Perfected in Weakness"
Every moment of this journey—every sleepless night, every quiet morning, every whispered conversation with my Beloved—has shown me something deeper about His heart. Weakness was never meant to shame us as women; it was meant to draw us closer to Him. In our frailty, He reveals His strength. In our surrender, He displays His perfection.
This is the beauty of being Perfected in Weakness—it’s not about trying harder, doing more, or becoming stronger. It’s about resting in the arms of the One who already won every battle, who already loves you completely, and who delights in showing His power through your surrender.
So, dear sister, let this be your invitation: let Him meet you in your weakness. Let His strength rise within you. And when He does—when you experience His impossible love and miraculous kindness—don’t keep it to yourself. Share your Living Lesson, share this living lesson. Stop to encourage another woman by telling her what He’s done for and what He means to you.
Because your story carries the power to heal, to restore, and to remind someone else that she, too, can be perfected in weakness—set free.
